Kramer Introduces VM-218DT and VM-218DTxr HDBaseT Distro Amps
Kramer Electronics’ newest HDBaseT distribution amplifiers, VM-218DT and VM-218DTxr are one HDMI or HDBaseT input (selectable) to eight HDBaseT output distribution amplifiers. The VM-218DT sends a 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) signal up to 40m and the VM-218DTxr sends a 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) signal up to 100m. Lower resolution signals can be transmitted even further.
Both HDBaseT distribution amplifiers are HDCP compliant and can take either an HDMI or an HDBaseT input (selectable), equalise and reclock the signal, then distribute it to eight identical HDBaseT outputs. Each output also supports separate RS-232 and IR input control signals that can be extended, along with the audio and video, simplifying connections to multiple destinations. Analog audio extraction of the selected input signal, allows high quality audio amplification and playback. The models also include a looping HDMI output for easy field expansion and local signal monitoring. Both have a web-based user interface and LED indicators for HDMI and HDBaseT ports to facilitate easy remote or local maintenance and troubleshooting.
The VM-218DT and VM-218DTxr are suitable for deploying mid-way between an HDMI or HDBaseT AV source and multiple remote displays. Both distribution amplifiers are capable of being connected to any market-available HDBaseT compliant extending product. Both HDBaseT distribution amplifiers are ideal for presentation and multimedia applications and rental and staging environments.
