Eurovision Sport Delivers Record Broadcast Proposition for FIFA Women’s World Cup

Eurovision Sport has confirmed that EBU Member broadcasters will be bringing live coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 to fans across Europe, with over 1000 broadcast hours of live match programming from the tournament. This unprecedented coverage of the event, which kicked off on the 7th of June in Paris, represents a five-times increase on the previous edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015.

In addition, Eurovision Sport will be offering an online service for audiences to complement the European television coverage on For the first time, fans will be able to access the platform and select the live match coverage they desire. They will then be either redirected to their national broadcaster, or able to access the content online, ensuring every minute of every game is available free-to-air.

With this extensive coverage available for fans, Europe’s Public Service Media combines to put the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 and women’s football firmly in the spotlight, supporting FIFA’s strategy to grow participation, enhance the value and build the foundations of the women’s game. Together this broadcast offer means that millions of viewers across the whole of Europe will be able to experience all the goals, action and excitement of the tournament.

Eurovision Sport, operated by the European Broadcasting Union, has a contract with FIFA through to 2022, covering the broadcasting of 13 FIFA events in 38 territories over the next four years, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019, as well as other FIFA events. This complements the additional FIFA/Eurovision Sport agreement for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
