Ausfilm CEO Debra Richards Moving to Netflix

Ausfilm’s CEO Debra Richards has tendered her resignation to pursue a new role at Netflix covering production policy in the Asia Pacific region.

According to AusFilm Chair, Sam Mostyn, “The Ausfilm Board has accepted Debra’s resignation to take effect from 30th August 2019 and while disappointed that she has decided to leave, wishes her all the very best for what lies ahead.

“Debra leaves an extraordinary legacy in transforming the organisation, advocating for and delivering key policy reforms that have benefited our members and the broader industry in attracting major production, VFX and post-production, developing and leading a highly skilled and well-respected team supporting Ausfilm’s membership and clients here and overseas, and nurturing invaluable relationships with government and industry across the spectrum.

Debra is highly respected, a great leader and the consummate colleague. We will miss her and thank her for that legacy.”

The Board has appointed Kate Marks, Ausfilm’s EVP of International Production based in Los Angeles as Ausfilm’s interim CEO from 31st August 2019, while the Board undertakes the process to appoint a new CEO. Details of that process will be available at the end of August.
