MediaWorks Appoints Dave Hine as Chief Digital Officer

New Zealand’s MediaWorks has appointed Dave Hine as Chief Digital Officer in a new role designed to ensure digital offerings across MediaWorks continue to drive its performance by ensuring a great user environment and client experience.

Hine has been with MediaWorks since 2016, most recently as General Manager of ThreeNow where he increased ThreeNow’s performance and delivered a cohesive digital approach to the business. Prior to this, he held roles at Lightbox as Head of Sales and Marketing, and Sony Computer Entertainment as Sales & Marketing Director. Dave is also on the Board of Directors for KPEX NZ and Freeview NZ.

Hine said, “The digital landscape for news and entertainment is constantly evolving. I’m excited to be able to help position MediaWorks to deliver compelling content for our audience when and where they want it.”

MediaWorks also announced that Glen Kyne’s title has been updated to Chief Customer Officer, effective immediately. The change has been implemented to better reflect how New Zealand’s largest privately-owned media company works with its clients.

Glen Kyne said, “We started life as a challenger media brand and had to work hard for our customers. They supported us, our offerings, and together we have been able to achieve many milestones. Evolving the role that we play with our customers is a natural progression, listening carefully to their needs in a fragmented market and improving our offering to meet their needs, generating even greater results and becoming a trusted advisor to our customers.

“As a company, we are laser focused on the experience our customers have with us. As we embark on this journey, we will seek to listen and understand our customers with greater insight, provide greater flexibility in how they engage with us, improve our products and services to serve the needs of customers and improve advertising ROI.”

MediaWorks CEO Michael Anderson said, “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to delivering the best user experience possible. Dave’s appointment and Glen’s change of title are simply the latest steps in a number of changes we have made as we continue to shape our offerings around the needs of our customers. We will continue to work closely with our clients to deliver the best service and the most effective results across all of our platforms.”
