Sean Curran Appointed to Lead Avid Team in Australia and New Zealand
Avid recently announced that Sean Curran has joined the company as Country Manager, Broadcast, Media and Post Production, Australia and New Zealand.
Having previously worked with Avid Elite Partner, Digistor, in a senior sales role and more recently with Aspera, an IBM Company, Curran has first–hand experience with developing complex broadcast and post production solutions for the ANZ market in addition to an exceptional knowledge of the channel.
With a strong focus on delivering streamlined workflow solutions, Curran believes the success of the client is paramount and has a comprehensive understanding of how the Avid MediaCentral Platform, the industry’s most open, tightly integrated and efficient platform designed for media, can help clients create, distribute and optimise media more efficiently by leveraging both the cloud and the integration of new Avid graphics capabilities – the latter made possible by the acquisition of Orad just over 18 months ago.
“As a result of its outstanding technology, Avid has sustained a solid industry presence for almost thirty years,” comments Curran. “This, coupled with the opportunity to work with a team of well-known industry professionals who are passionate, focused and geared toward their customers’ success, made my decision to join the company very simple.”
“The Australia and New Zealand markets are very important to Avid and have consistently been early adopters of cutting edge technology,” comments Tom Cordiner, Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales. “Australia, in particular, is now entering a new phase as the government rolls out its National Broadband Network (NBN) across the nation. This will open up new and exciting possibilities for broadcasters and content creators, alike. With Sean Curran leading the Avid team in the territory Avid is well positioned to help our clients both manage the impact and maximise the opportunities presented by the digital disruption within the media and entertainment industries.”
“Insight into the product roadmap underscores Avid’s continued focus on its client success and ongoing intention to forge true industry partnerships.” adds Curran. “It is exciting to be part of the Avid Community and at the helm of delivering the next era of technology into newsrooms and post production facilities across Australia and New Zealand.”
Curran works from the Avid office in Sydney and may be contacted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0413 520 025.
