Sponsored Post: Videocraft/Hollyland Not-So-Secret Black Friday

The Black Friday Sales have always been a huge event in the good ol’ U.S. of A. After all, what better way to cure that Thanksgiving turkey hang-over than with a bit of intensive “retail therapy”. Interestingly, it’s only been relatively recently that the Black Friday sales phenomenon has caught on in Australia in a major way, but to say that Aussies have taken to it like a duck to water is akin to saying that Homer likes the occasional doughnut… (mmm… doughnuts….).

So as the clouds darken and we wait with baited-breath for that one day of the year (today!) when all those goodies that we’ve lusted after are at prices that only the Blackest of Fridays seems to be able to conjure, there’s a rumour on the breeze that Videocraft and Hollyland Australia have teamed up to stitch together a Black Friday super-special. Of course, we all know that the folk at Videocraft are purveyors of all sorts of good gear and nicknacks to those of us of the production ilk. But many may not know of Hollyland; a producer of professional wireless video link systems that range from super-affordable SDI & HDMI links, right through to the long-range, zero-delay gear in daily use on some of Australia’s best-known television programs. Editor’s note: I also have it on good authority that the range will soon be expanding into the wireless audio domain as well – so watch this space…

Now, we make it a point to report on facts, not rumour, so – totally ignoring the fact that the last paragraph was almost all rumour – we decided to check with James Taylor at Videocraft about a planned Hollyland special. His only response was “…I can neither confirm nor deny that Videocraft will have a super-duper Hollyland special on Australia’s most popular wireless link system that is planned to start at 12am Friday, November 27 and ending on the 4th of December around tea-time. I also can’t comment on the fact that if we were indeed to run such a special that it would be ‘totally amaze-balls’.” Awesome. Thanks James… Good to have that clarification…

Seeking to nail down the speculation a bit further we contacted Roger Hagelaar, MD of Hollyland Australia for comment. His response was “…heck, yeah! It’s going to be huge, dog!…”. OoooKaaaay, I sensed a possible pattern forming here…. Now, where is that pack of doughnuts?…
Perhaps it’s the potential rush from that final, tasty, delectable, mouthful of deep-fried sugar and cinnamon goodness, but the take-away from those two conversations is that Videocraft will, may, could be, will possibly, may not, could possibly may not, but probably will in all likelihood be running a super-special on Hollyland’s most popular wireless link system commencing today, Black Friday… So it sounds like it could be worth your while to take a look… (…Oom.. nom.. nom..)

It’s day’s like today that make me think about applying for – oh, I don’t know – say, an MD position at a major television network…
It’s days like today that I think back to my mother’s advice about making the smart move to a career in sports journalism…
