Screen Australia CEO Graeme Mason said: “For The Secret She Keeps to
sell so well before the series has aired is a real coup for Lingo
Pictures. The script adapted from Michael Robotham’s best-selling novel
is gripping and universally appealing, and Lingo have cleverly crafted a
series I’m confident will resonate with audiences here in Australia and
all over the world.”
Based loosely on true events, The Secrets She Keeps is the story of
Agatha Fyfle and Megan Shaughnessy. Everyone has an idea of what their
‘perfect’ life is. For Agatha, it’s Meghan’s. These two women from
vastly different walks of life hold one thing in common – explosive
secrets that could destroy everything they hold dear. Both will risk
everything to conceal the truth, but their worlds are about to collide
in one shocking act that cannot be undone.
Lingo Pictures’ Helen Bowden said: “Michael’s book is impossible to put
down and we’re very happy to have made something that buyers are finding
impossible to switch off. We were always confident that this story
would appeal to audiences around the world but it’s thrilling to see the
series selling like hot cakes, especially to homes as prestigious as
the BBC and Sundance Now.”
Michael Robotham is one of Australia’s most successful authors. His
psychological thrillers have been translated into 25 languages and
published in more than 50 countries.
