Date Change for METexpo (SMPTE) Show

Expertise Events, organiser of METexpo, the Media + Entertainment Tech Expo (formerly the SMPTE Australia Conferene & Exhibition), has announced a significant adjustment to the event in response to stakeholder feedback.

Taking on board industry feedback, METexpo has announced new dates of 17th Wednesday – 19th Friday July, 2019, to avoid both the weekend accommodation rate increases and staff weekend rates for exhibitors. The show remains at a cost and time efficient three days, as both the traditional number of opening days for the event, and as initially requested for time efficiency by stakeholders.

METexpo will run in conjunction with two conferences. The first being SMPTE, which will run over three days and has recently secured Mr Michael Ebeid, Group Executive with Telstra Enterprise as a Keynote Speaker. The second being ACS, the Australian Cinematographers Society.

Additional supporters of the event include Women In Film & Television (WIFT), the association committed to improving the status and representation of women working in film both on and off the screen, and The Studio, a not-for-profit organisation and incubator, supported by more than 20 local and global partners and sponsors, across technology, industry, business, education and government. SMPTE will also be sponsoring a Happy Hour directly on the show floor on the opening night, to support the networking and mixing of businesses as they catch up with old and new friends.

With this change in event dates, from Wednesday 17th July through to Friday 19th July, METexpo now aligns with the dates of the SMPTE Conference. Both events will be held at ICC Sydney in Darling Harbour.
