99.co and Mediacorp Join Hands in Strategic Digital Partnership

Singapore’s largest property portal, 99.co, and Singapore’s Mediacorp have joined hands to create the next generation of property search to boost the user experience of property buyers, sellers, agents and developers. The agreement combines Mediacorp’s multi-platform audience reach and deep commercial relationships together with 99.co’s largest listing base, extensive content, and data analytics tools to create more relevant property related news and information for consumers. The partnership is part of Mediacorp Partner Network (MPN), an initiative that brings Mediacorp together with partner organisations to deliver a richer experience for consumers and advertisers in Singapore.

Effective as of the 1st September 2018, Mediacorp will bring 99.co’s property content into its portfolio of digital assets that include over 50 products in four languages (English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil). Mediacorp properties reach 99 percent of people in Singapore every week, according to Nielsen Media Index. Eight of the top ten most listened to radio stations in Singapore are Mediacorp stations. Over 85 percent of Singapore viewers tune in to Mediacorp’s seven free-to-air television stations every week. Page views on Mediacorp properties average 200 million views per month internationally. 99.co will bring to Mediacorp’s audience base a new focus and expertise in the real estate industry, catering to both existing and new audiences interests.

Under this agreement, Mediacorp will be the exclusive representative for all media sales in Singapore for 99.co. In addition, Mediacorp will also have the right to represent 99.co in key markets outside Singapore on a non-exclusive basis. This comes soon after an announcement this month when ESPN became Mediacorp’s inaugural partner under the MPN initiative. Under this agreement, 99.co will provide property sector editorial content on Mediacorp’s platforms and will also support client solutioning using branded content.

Launched in 2015 in Singapore, the three-year-old listing portal 99.co has gained rapid popularity with consumers with its user centric design and user-first search algorithm. 99.co became the largest residential property site in both Singapore and Indonesia after a successful acquisition of Indonesia’s largest property site UrbanIndo.com earlier last year. The listing portal now has over 1.2 million active properties listed in Indonesia and over 150,000 active homes available for rent and sale at any one time in Singapore. Today, 99.co reaches over 22.5 million property seekers across both markets annually.

CEO of 99.co Darius Cheung said, “This is match made in heaven. We are Singapore’s leader in property listings, real estate content and analysis, and Mediacorp has a wide audience that will greatly boost 99.co’s brand and content exposure. This is a perfect fit to help fulfil a glaring opportunity and is a great win for consumers and clients all around. We look forward to strengthening our digital presence in Singapore and the region with Mediacorp as our media partner.”

Mediacorp’s Chief Commercial and Digital Officer Parminder Singh said, “We are excited about 99.co becoming our second partner to join Mediacorp Partner Network, which we launched to create new possibilities for Mediacorp and our partners. With 99.co, Mediacorp will offer specific property-related content to property buyers, sellers and agents in Singapore. Through Mediacorp’s reach and relationships, 99.co will gain access to new consumers and advertisers in Singapore. Through this agreement, we aim to enhance the experience of those searching online for their homes and investments.”
