SKy NZ Boosts ‘Go’ App
New Zealand’s SKY has released a major upgrade to the SKY GO App adding the ability to watch Catch Up TV, Box Sets and On Demand content on mobile and tablet.
“Until now, SKY GO App users haven’t had the same functionality on the go as they’ve had on desktops and laptops, so we’re excited to now add Catch Up TV, full-season Box Sets and On Demand content to our mobile service so customers can access their favourite content where they want, when they want,” said Julian Wheeler, SKY’s Chief Product and Technology Officer.
Customers can continue to access up to 26 channels live on the SKY GO App, check SKY’s electronic programme guide (EPG) and easily manage their preferences such as parental controls, video quality and devices, as well as access FAQs and provide feedback, via the settings tab.
“We have worked closely with customers on user functionality, the results of which you can clearly see in the new easy to navigate interface,” Julian Wheeler said.
“We’re really keen to hear feedback from our customers on the improvements we’ve made and hope they will find the simple to use in-App feedback process handy. We’ll be adding new features over the coming months so I look forward to sharing more information on those soon.”
As well as offering catch up access for TV series, movies and sport based on a customer’s individual subscription, new to the SKY GO App are daily recommendations as well as full-seasons of some of SKY’s most binge-worthy content.
“There’s no chance of missing out on the latest shows, movies and sports with our daily top suggestions, hand-picked by our local programming teams,” said SKY’s Director of Entertainment Content, Travis Dunbar.
“App users can now also access a range of full TV series in SKY GO’s new Box Sets section where there’s something for every taste, from gripping drama like Ray Donovan, Game of Thrones and Animal Kingdom to fan favourites such as Nashville, Shameless and The Royals.”
“Available to watch immediately, this feature is something we know our App customers have been enthusiastically asking for and will be excited about,” said Mr Dunbar.
