Chimney APAC Launches Features Division, Restructures Advertising and Content
Chimney has announced the launch of its Features division in Asia Pacific (APAC). Through the Features division, Chimney post-produces high-quality work such as feature films, TV series, documentaries, music videos (long-form, non-commercial content) for movie studios, over-the-top (OTT) platforms like Netflix and TV networks.
While the feature offering is new to the region, it has been built on a global track record of success across other Chimney offices in Europe and the USA. The company has won several industry awards including the Academy Award, BAFTA and Palme d’Or for its feature work. Beyonce’s Lemonade (music video), The Zero Theorem (British-French-Romanian science fiction film), Her (American romantic science-fiction drama film), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (British-French mystery film), Searching for Sugarman (Swedish-British documentary) are some of the noteworthy global feature projects. Most recently Chimney completed its largest feature film to-date, managing the entire post-production for Atomic Blonde, an action spy thriller starring Charlize Theron.

Singapore remains a key market for Chimney in APAC, having experienced significant growth as the demand for high end post-production and production services in the region continues to flourish.
Chimney’s brand new 5,000 square foot facility features a mix of three multi-purpose suites and open plan workstations. The team is Singapore has also grown by 50 percent and Chimney will continue to add to its highly-experienced post-production team throughout the year.
Chimney APAC has also restructured its existing Advertising and Content (A+C) division into two pillars – Chimney Post-production and Chimney Production, with its post-production offering at the forefront. The restructure allows brands and agencies to work with dedicated bespoke teams depending on the post-production and production services required. Camilla Andersen, a 15-year industry veteran, will be heading the A+C APAC division. Camilla has worked on commercials and factual entertainment – documentaries, reality TV – in over 70 countries, with experience both in-front and behind the camera as an executive producer, showrunner and director.

Chimney A+C works with brands – Singapore Airlines, Samsung and Singapore Tourism Board – and agencies – JWT, Dentsu, and TBWA – to create digital content and TV commercials.
Through Chimney Post-production, brands and agencies will have access to end-to-end post-production services such as on set supervision, editing, grade and colour correction, mastering as well as visual and sound effects. The Chimney Post-production team comprises of experienced post-producers, offline editors, Flame artists, and 3D artists. Some notable post-production work includes McDonald’s Despicable Me 3 Breakfast commercial (working with DDB) as well as a digital film for Suntory titled ‘Good Mood: The Bad Choice’ (working with Arcade), which has since raked in more than 14 million views on YouTube.
Chimney Production will focus on working with brands and agencies to produce top-quality digital and commercial content. The team includes renowned directors Johan Polhem and Matt Horrex as well as highly-experienced in-house producers, and works with established executive producers such as Singapore-based Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize winner, Fran Borgia, of Akanga Film Asia. Chimney has produced more than 80 pieces of digital content and television commercials for brands including Netflix, Quandoo and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
