Digital and Technology Collective, AIMIA Revisioned

Back in 1992, around the time the first website was built, a new association was founded to focus on generating federal government support for the fledgling New Media industry. The association was the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association or AIMIA.

A quarter of a century later, the rapidly changing industry is far from new and the name no longer reflects what the association actually does. With evolving priorities, advancing technology, changing needs and new challenges and opportunities, AIMIA is also changing.

With a renewed focus and under new leadership since 2016, the association has to announced that AIMIA has shed its old brand and is now the Digital + Technology Collective (D+TC).

“The new name embodies our key focus areas: digital and technology. In this digital and technology-led era, we will play a leading role in ensuring Australian business is equipped with the knowledge, tools, education and thought leadership to stay at the cutting edge of change,” said Jodie Sangster, CEO of D+TC.

“In this exciting new era, the association will focus on supporting and connecting digital natives within Australia, as well as promoting education within the industry to meet increasing demands and constant changes.

“Together, we will work to accelerate Australia’s economic progress by creating a greenhouse environment that will nurture innovation in digital and technology.”
