Prime NZ Centralises Transmission

June 14 will see the New Zealand Prime TV network cease transmission of its two regional broadcast feeds, which allowed different advertising in different parts of the country, in favour of one national feed.

The move has seen Prime’s broadcast move frequency from 24 May, requiring some New Zealand viewers to retune several channels on Sky, Freeview and hybrid set-top boxes.

The affected channels are Prime and two Mediaworks’ channels, Four+1 and The Edge. Some viewers with Freeview boxes and hybrid TV’s will need to retune. Most Freeview devices will update automatically.
