ACMA Releases December 2015 Quarterly Snapshot
The Australian Communications and Media Authority has released its second Quarterly Snapshot, providing provisional headline information and data about its:
- Broadcasting, radio-frequency spectrum, telecommunications and unsolicited communications complaints, investigations and compliance work
- Allocations and licensing regulatory work
- Activities supporting the NBN
- The ACMA’s Customer Service Centre.
‘Building on our successful initial Quarterly Snapshots, this second snapshot assists in understanding the broad sweep of the ACMA’s responsibilities, which understanding can be a challenge,’ said ACMA Chairman, Chris Chapman. ‘We have a complex regulatory remit spanning some 26 Acts and around 400 regulatory instruments.
‘This is why, to help our multiple and varied stakeholders gain a wider appreciation about the range of our day-to-day regulatory activities, we are publishing these quarterly snapshots, each headlined by an infographic.
‘This report for the December quarter provides an ‘at-a-glance’ feel for the range of our activities, giving insight into various activities that can sometimes be lost in the specifics of our day-to-day engagement with the broadcasting, radio-communications, telecommunications and internet industries,’ Mr Chapman added.
