Innovation is Key at Independent Cinemas Conference
The annual Independent Cinemas Association of Australia (ICAA) Conference is returning to Palace Cinema Como in chic South Yarra in Melbourne (May 3-5, 2016). The theme of this year’s conference is Innovation is Key with a focus on the “inspiration and inventiveness in the service and technology that renews and reinforces the unique entertainment experience that can only be found at an independent cinema”.
All issue affecting the sector will be explored through-out the conference, as organisers look to bring independent cinema owners together with content distributors, producers, suppliers, equipment manufacturers and service providers.
This year will feature a presentation by Price Waterhouse Coopers Executive Director Megan Brownlow. The impact of technology on media and entertainment businesses has been profound and Megan, editor of the PWC annual Media Entertainment Outlook will outline the changing landscape and how innovation is key to cinema businesses surviving and thriving in the digital age.
The conference will also feature a presentation by award winning producer Sue Maslin and renowned indi exhibitor and distributor Natalie Miller on the success of The Dressmaker and women in the screen community in support of the Natalie Miller Fellowship.
